MUKAH: The Mukah Division Resident Office, together with the 96400 Cycling Team and Mukah Foldies, will be organising a fun ride to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Sarawak Independence at the division level.
The event, taking place on this Sunday, June 18, will start at 7.00 am at Dewan Suarah Mukah. The fun ride is themed “SARAWAK MAJU MAKMUR”
Ahmad Nazim Basiri, a member of the organising committee, said that this programme is free and open to all Malaysian citizens, regardless of the type of bicycle. The event is a fun ride, not a race, and there are no age or gender limits. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parents or guardians.
Participants are advised to ensure that their bicycles are in good condition and that they are physically fit for the approximately 6km ride. It is recommended to bring emergency supplies and water. The organisers will not provide tools for bike repairs, including pumps.
An emergency escort vehicle will be available for the participants. Cars can be parked at the Pasar Lama parking lot, and participants can ride their bikes to Dewan Suarah.
Ahmad Nazim also reminded cyclists to wear appropriate clothing that does not contain any writings that may affect harmony or provoke others.
The route for this program starts from Dewan Suarah Mesra and passes through SMK Three Rivers, Fire Station Mukah, Pantai Kala Dana, Mukah Seafood, Pasar Lama Mukah (Check point), Medan Selera, Masjid Setia Raja, Miaw Seng, and finally back to Dewan Suarah.
