KUCHING: A road accident involving a sedan car (Proton Waja) and a 3-ton lorry was reported at Jalan Stephon Yong next to Kampung Tematu in Batu Kawa, Kuching yesterday.

According a report, the Fire and Rescue Services Department in Kuching received a call at 14:36:57 hours yesterday asking for help at the accident scene.

On the status of the operation, it ended at 15:09.05 hours. Ten Fire and Services Department (Bomba) personnel with 1 FRT and EMRS vehicles were involved in the operation, according to the report from Pusat Gerakan Operasi Bomba Sarawak.

Due to the impact of the collision, the 50-year-old male driver of the sedan car, was said to be injured on his chest and needed help to get out from the car while the lorry driver was not injured. Bomba personnel helped the driver of the car to get out of his car though he was not reported to be stuck to the seat and only suffered from chest pain. The EMRS team helped him with initial treatment and later helped to send him to the Sarawak General Hospital, Kuching.
