MIRI: A cat, assumed to be around one year old, has been saved after getting stuck roughly 14 feet up a tree for three days within the compound of Miri Hospital on Friday afternoon.

Several members of the public, including the hospital’s security staff, had tried desperately to rescue the cat before they called up the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) for help.

They were unsure of how it got up there, and the cat appeared to be having trouble getting back down.

“Six APM personnel were deployed to the scene upon receiving an alert call on the incident at 3.26pm,” said Miri APM officer in charge Capt (PA) Usman Harto.

They arrived at about 3.35pm. The cat was rescued using a special tool in less than 10 minutes.
