Chelsnie crowns as Borneo Supermodel 2023

KUCHING: The Borneo Beauties Next Top Model Final Showdown 2023 wowed the audience on Saturday night, showcasing the diversity, strength, and beauty of the Borneo community.

The competition, which was held at HAUS Kuching, saw 18 models from two categories battling for the title.

In the Borneo Plus Size Model 2023 category, Meilyvia, Junifer, Aqma, Anjili and Amanda took the top five spots.

For the Borneo Model 2023 category, the top five spots went to Ziaricha, Angel Artist, Salome, Chelsnie and Halimah.

In the main award presentation, Chelsnie was crowned as the winner for Borneo Supermodel 2023, while Anjili and Ziaricha were named first and second runner-ups respectively.

Organising chairman of the event Nurul Syahada Edereal said that the models competing had learned to embrace their flaws, to celebrate their uniqueness, and to never give up on their dreams.

“Throughout their 16-week long journey, we have seen our contestants grow, not just as models, but as individuals who have embraced their flaws, to celebrate their uniqueness, and to never give up on their dreams.

“They have faced challenges and obstacles, but they have persevered with grace and determination. This competition is not just about winning a title or a crown, it’s about the journey that takes us there.

“It’s about the friendships that are formed, the memories that are made, and the lessons that are learned,” she said in her opening speech.

She commended the contestants for their talents and dedication in the model and fashion industry.

“We are confident that they will go on to do great things, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for them,” she added.

Nurul Syahada, who is also the founder of Borneo Beauties, said the competition such as this will continue on to the next regions in Sarawak as well as in Sabah.

This aims to recruit more talents and continue empowering women in the Borneo region.
