BINTULU: The Bintulu Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) yesterday handed over cheques and aid to five individuals.

The brief handover ceremony was officiated by the Agriculture Moderniaation and Regional Development minister Datuk Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom in conjunction with the SOCSO and Sarawak Petchem Sdn.Bhd Career Carnival at the Bintulu Civic Hall.

Of the five individuals, one of them was Joshua Mat.

He had an accident while working on January 1 He suffered a broken left shoulder and doctors gave him 59 days’ sick leave and a payment of RM6,214.67 was made on March 17.

Meanwhile, Norita Dinggu Keling, a beneficiary of disability pension since 2021, suffered from a cerebral vascular accident with right hemipleyia.

Junidah Andrew Akun, on the other hand, received a payment of RM360 after being infected with the COVID-19 virus at work and was tested positive.

Chiong Yu Huong and Peter Tandin each received rehabilitation tools.

Chiong received assistance of milk supply, adult disposable diapers, a ripple mattresses, a wheelchair and a bed as well as SOCSO’s disability pension.

Peter, who is also a recipient of a disability pension since 2011, received rehabilitation equipment that included walking frames, elbow crutches as well as a wheelchair.

SOCSO Deputy Chief Executive (Operations), John Riba Marin, Bintulu Division Resident Datuk Jack Aman Luat were present.
