KUCHING: The entire block of the CityOne Megamall is now open except for 21 store units in front of the blocks A, B, C and D.

The related store units that are still closing their business operations to the public are KKDC, Fullhouse, Earthlings, MetroJaya, Watsons, Hotlink, Place to Chat, Yoberry kiosk, X Core Fitness, Huawei, Oppo, Coneli, Soft Toys Shop, Ms. Poteto, A. People, The Men’s Shop, Lot 10 Café, Sunmax, Antiques Shop, Mr. Right and Pezzo.

Kenbest Sdn Bhd director Stephen Long Tine Chung in a media statement yesterday said this was due to the Structural Safety report prepared by the recognised Consultant Structural Engineer.

“We would like to apologise to our friends, tenants and customers for not being able to conduct the opening earlier.

“We do not want to jeopardise anyone’s safety and work closely with all releavant authorities to get the necessary ‘green light’ before reopening,” said Long.

As of Friday, a total of 22 victims of the recent explosion were discharged from hospital, three out of four people in ICU were transferred to normal ward, and 13 in burnt ward are in stable condition.
