MIRI: Two schools here were flooded with water levels reaching about one foot high following continuous rainfall last night (Nov 22).

Despite the floods, both SMK Agama Miri and SJK Tukau Miri schools continued their operations without disruption.

A spokesman for the Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) said they were notified of the incident around 7.10 am and dispatched a team to the schools for flood monitoring.

Upon assessment, the team confirmed that the roads leading to the schools were still accessible to vehicles.

Notably, no temporary relief centre was established in response to the situation.

Residents in the nearby villages are urged to remain vigilant and to evacuate if conditions become unsafe.
