MIRI: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop an appropriate management system known as Anti-Bribery Management System or ABMS MS ISO 37001:2016 was signed between the Miri City Council (MCC) and the Institute Integrity Malaysia (IIM) on Wednesday.

With this MoU, MCC through its leadership commitment, could establish a culture of integrity, transparency and compliances and also proactively preventing bribery.

According to city mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, the establishment of the system would take about six months.

He disclosed this at the launching of the city council’s annual integrity month held at a leading hotel here by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department in charge of Integrity and Ombudsman, Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya.

Also present were IIM chief executive officer Datuk Nor Yahati  Awang and Miri city deputy mayor Arriffin Mohamad.

“Integrity Month is not just a ceremony; it is a call to action. It is a reminder that the strength of a Smart City isn’t measured by technology alone but by the character of its people and the integrity of its leadership,” Yii said.
