KUCHING: Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian has appealed to Satok Market hawkers to take the initiative and come forward for Covid-19 screening.
In a Facebook post yesterday, he said that Satok Market will be undergoing an active case detection of all its hawkers.
“We appeal to them to step forward to any of the health clinics around Kuching for PCR (polymerase chain reaction) swab, rather than waiting for a telephone call from the Divisional Health Office (DHO) to take the PCR swab,” he urged.
He said that this was for the benefit of themselves, their families, and the community.
“Everyone has a role. Please play your part seriously. Together, we can prevent a second wave of Covid-19 pandemic in Sarawak,” said Dr Sim.
