KUCHING: The state will help commercialise research outcomes and collaborate with industries and universities on the transfer of knowledge and technology. “With IR 4.0, it is crucial that research and development at all levels adopt the required skills and knowledge,” said Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He revealed that the state government has provided scholarships to students and grants to universities to conduct research in areas of higher education. “The state government is very pleased to provide grant to Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) through the Digital Sarawak Centre of Excellence grant.

The granted research projects support anchor sectors of Sarawak Digital Economy; Agriculture, Manufacturing Industry 4.0, Digital Health and Smart City,” said Abang Johari in his text of speech read by Law, StateFederal Relations and Project Monitoring Assistant Minister Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali.
