SARIKEI: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, praised Serakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Sarikei for their assistance to the needy in the constituencies.
During the SIDS Sarikei fundraising event today (Nov 25), Huang highlighted the group’s involvement in various community support activities.
“SIDS Sarikei is actively assisting with longhouse fires, floods, and giving gifts during the Gawai Day celebrations at Sarikei Hospital every year, in addition to providing support to SIDS members admitted to the hospital,” he said.
Huang, who is also the Sarikei MP, announced a RM10,000 allocation to SIDS Sarikei to strengthen their activities and support outstanding students.
“Since becoming the Repok assemblyman, I have contributed school bags, uniforms, and shoes to help alleviate the financial burden on parents and guardians in preparing their children for school each year,” he added.
