The community leaders and village chiefs resolved to oppose the implementation of Village Community Management Council (MPKK) in Tatau district.

“This situation certainly has a devastating effect on the long-standing unity among the residents especially those living in longhouses,” a statement issued after the meeting said.

The community leaders insisted that the JKKK system has proven to be effective and acceptable to the people.

“The JKKK system is also effectively managed and monitored by the District Office. On the other hand, the MPKK is made up of PH members to serve their political parties and political masters, how would they be able to serve the people fairly?
