KUCHING: The state’s Certified Integrity Officers (CeIOs) who have been appointed at various government departments and agencies are urged to continue to play their role and promote the importance of having the highest level of integrity.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip said that the state government has produced 90 CeIOs and about 78 agencies will complete the Organisation Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) document.

“This is one of the ways to cultivate integrity in every state government agency and department,” he said.

He said this during an appreciation ceremony for CeIO Zulhairy Zaidel whose attachment period with the unit has expired.

Zulhairy, who is also the former deputy director of Sarawak Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) was assigned to the State Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (Union) in the Chief Minister’s Department to help strengthen the integrity culture agenda.

Talib then expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to Zulhairy who has been very helpful in supporting the development of the integrity agenda in the state.

“It is a loss for the unit as Zulhairy is very dedicated in carrying out his duties and responsibilities throughout his service with the unit,” he said.

Also present during the appreciation ceremony were Union director Adana Jed and Sarawak CeIO Association chairman Yusuf Bujang.
