KUCHING: Newly converted Muslims from eight Bidayuh villagers received sacrificial meat after the Aidiladha prayers at Al Muhajirin Mosque, Kampung Paya Mebi near here, yesterday.
The new converts, numbering 118, are from Kampung Betong, Kampung Sinar Baru, Kampung Bumbok, Kampung Tematu, Kampungn Dangak, Kampung Semeba, Kampung Sudad and Lorong 11 Kampung Paya Mebi.
Four cows were sacrificed in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations. Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang donated three cows while former state secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain donated one. Also receiving the meat were less fortunate residents from Kampung Paya Mebi.
