Cops looking for Sg Apong burglar

KUCHING: Police here are currently on the hunt for a burglar who allegedly broke into a house in Sungai Apong and made off with valuables worth RM20,000 on Wednesday.

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for breaking into a house to commit burglary.

The Section provides for a jail sentence of up to 14 years and a fine or whipping, upon conviction.

“It happened when no one was at home.

“The burglar made off with valuables worth around RM20,000,” he said when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

It was understood that the burglar broke into the house by removing the grille on the right side of the house.
