SINGAPORE: Malaysia Corruption Watch (MCW) embarked on a three-day study tour to Singapore from Dec 7 to enhance its members’ knowledge in the field of law relating to corruption of the outside world.

The tour is also in conjunction with the International Anti-Corruption Day, which is celebrated on Dec 9 every year.

MCW president Jais Abdul Karim headed the 35-man delegation, which comprised members of the Advisory Board, committee members, MCW Think-Tank and Activists Panel.

Jais said he hoped that every MCW member would gain anti-corruption knowledge and important information about corruption from the outside world as a way of empowering them in the area of corruption-related laws.

“Consciousness to keep away from corruption will be formed by itself,” he said in a statement issued on Monday.

As part of the learning tour, MCW also visited the Singapore Parliament and a law firm, Rajah & Tan Singapore LLP.

The delegation also attended a learning programme, titled “Fighting Corruption in Singapore: Learning from Success and Failure”, with Prof Jon Quah, of the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office, at the Singapore Youth Reading Park.
