KUCHING: Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) has been carrying out disinfection process in key areas where public members congregate daily.

Its chairman Datuk Peter Minos confirmed this when commenting on whether MBKS have started their own citywide disinfection process.

In his statement, Minos said the efforts are being put into the initiative to ensure the safety of the people visiting the markets while ensuring that social distancing are being practised.

Minos was also pleased to see MPKS enforcement officers and law enforcement agencies wholeheartedly carrying out their designated tasks during these challenging times.

“(MPKS) is pleased to see that our enforcement personnel and the police doing their best in enforcing the rules of the movement control order (MCO).

“They are still able to carry out their duties despite the risks of Covid-19. This is very good of them,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minos also said that while staying at home for a long period of time can be difficult, the people must abide to the rules given for the sake of the state and the country as a whole.

“This is not our choice but we must do it. We have plenty more days until April 14. Therefore, we pray and hope that everyone could be patient and understanding towards the situation.

“I predict that if everyone does their part in complying with the MCO, we should be alright by the end of the MCO,” he claimed.
