BELADIN: Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor has called on the Regional Fishermen’s Association (RFA) to cut operating costs to show more profits to members.

He said he was disappointed that despite a sales turnover of RM1.3 million the RFA Beladin-Saribas had incurred excessive operating costs.

“Pay serious attention to costs if you want to make more profit, operating expenses need to be reduced,” he said at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of RFA Beladin-Saribas at the Kampung Beladin Community Hall, today.

Razaili also urged the AGM this time to approve the motion for all Malaysian Fisheries Development Board (LKIM) projects to be expedited.

“I want to see ice factory projects, oil and so on being worked on more vigorously and downstream products based on sea products increased.

“And I also suggest that the existing wet market be utilised, perhaps periodically for a start.”

What we want to see fishermen being able to double their income, he said.

Razaili also announced a grant of RM20,000 to RFA Beladin-Saribas at the event.
