KUCHING: DAP Sri Aman Committee members led by Leon Jimat Donald visited the Road Transport Department (RTD) of Sri Aman yesterday.

The group was briefed on the scope and areas of duties held by RTD in the Sri Aman Division by Hillary Bong, the Divisional RTD chief.

Leon highlighted on the need for RTD to monitor the vehicles especially the overloaded trucks involved in works on the Pan Borneo Highway Project currently in Sri Aman. A lot of complaints have been forwarded to DAP Sri Aman office on these issues, where stones from overloaded trucks fell and destroyed the car windows of the vehicles following behind the lorries.

Bong admitted that they were a bit overwhelmed with the size of the area which they had to cover which stretches from Balai Ringin to Lubok Antu and Betong, but he promised that the RTD would do their best to serve the people well including solving their problems as far as the roads are concerned.
