DARO: Daro has undergone much transformation, which further boosted the economy of the local people around this area.

Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad said this year marks 50 years since Daro became a full district.

“The elevation of Daro as a district has led to numerous changes and significant development in this area. It enhances both physical and soft skill development.

“Although the state government in Sarawak has invested heavily in physical development, it has seen a positive return on its investment,” he said.

He said this at the 2023 Daro Festival Closing Ceremony and Daro District People’s Project Site Handover Ceremony  here, yesterday.

He further commented that Daro had become congested based on his observation.

“Congestion in Daro is caused by various activities, which is drawing visitors to the area. This also involves activities that include administrative economics and so on,” he explained.

At the same time, he revealed that Pesta Daro had generated an income of RM1 million throughout its duration.
