KUCHING: Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin has asked Works Minister Baru Bian to immediately look into what has gone wrong in a roundabout at Mile 13th Kuching-Serian Road.
According to Mongin, thus far more than 200 accidents had occurred at the roundabout.
Willie made the request in his speech at ‘Leaders with the people’ session at Kampung Bratan multipurpose hall, Jalan Puncak Borneo on Friday night.
He also requested Baru to look into the request to build an overhead bridge at Kampung Sungai Bari, Panchor as crossing the Pan Borneo Highway was too dangerous for school children to get to their school.
Willie requested the minister to bring more infrastructure developments to his Puncak Borneo constituency especially roads, adding that the constituency is still behind in terms of infrastructure development.
He however expressed confidence that these shortcomings would be resolved by the government.
Willie thanked Baru for the financial grants he gave to St Michael Chapel.
More than 500 guests were at the function including Saratok MP Ali Biju.
They were entertained to cultural performances and songs by Megaforce Band and singer Fiona John.
Baru also rendered a song “Green, green grass of home” by Tom Jones.
