SIBU: The Sibu Civil Defence Force (APM) saved a deer that had become trapped in a drain in a residential area at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce.
Responding to an emergency call received around 2.43 pm on Saturday (May 4), the APM team promptly arrived at the location, which was about 6.5 kilometres from their base.
Initially reported by a passerby as a cow in distress, it was discovered upon the team’s arrival that the trapped animal was actually a deer.
The APM said that the incident occurred in front of a house within the neighbourhood.
Employing ropes, three APM personnel managed to extricate the deer, which was estimated to weigh around 100 kilogrammes.
The operation concluded successfully at 4.20 pm, with the deer safely removed from the drain.
