KUCHING: Embracing the spirit of the approaching Christmas season, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian is upholding a heart-warming tradition by personally signing Christmas cards – a practice initiated by his late father, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Sim Kheng Hong.

In a recent Facebook post, he wrote that in the midst of breaks during the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting, he would take time off to sign numerous cards.

He fondly recalled assisting his late father, who used a fountain pen for the task.

“It is slightly more than one month until Christmas. Following the tradition started by my late father, I will personally sign each card, although not with a fountain pen.

“Whenever I have time, in between breaks of the DUN sitting, I will sign as many cards as possible,” he said.

The Batu Kawa assemblyman also extended a generous offer to the public, inviting them to participate in this festive tradition.

Sim encouraged those interested in receiving a Christmas card from him to provide their address for mailing.

“If anyone of you would like a Christmas card from me, please leave your address for us to post the physical card to your postal box.

“Fill up your Christmas card request through this form – https://forms.gle/oRaPMbhAowpbKXVy8, and submit them before Dec 3,” he said.

As Christmas approaches, the public is urged to seize this unique opportunity to receive a heartfelt greeting directly from the Deputy Premier.
