MUKAH: Dewan Suarah Mesra is one of the five centres in this division that will serve as a vaccine administration centre (VAC) in line with the ongoing National Covid-19 Vaccination Programme.

Mukah division Resident Hamdiah Bakir said it will be opened in mid-April.

She said in Dalat district, Stadium Perpaduan will serve as VAC, while in Matu district (Dewan Suarah Matu), Daro district (Dewan Masyarakat Daro) and Tanjung Manis district (Dewan Masyarakat Belawai).

Gotong-royong to clean and make necessary preparation is being carried out simultaneously in all the five districts,” she said at the gotong-royong event involving Mukah District Office, Mukah Division Health Department and other agencies on Saturday (Mar 27).

Dr Normi Kunyo from Mukah Divison Health Department and Mukah District Covid-19 Immmunisation Task Force (CITF) secretariat chief Nolin Gendang also attended the event.

Hamdiah said the data for the vaccine recipients, aged 18 years old and above, would be finalised by the respective district offices and health departments.

She said so far, more than 70,000 people or 84 percent of Mukah’s population have registered for the vaccination.

She hoped that the vaccine recipients would watch out for the vaccination schedules arranged by the health department in order to facilitate the process.

Hamdiah also urged the public to contact their respective district offices or health departments if there is any doubt on the vaccination.

Meanwhile, Mukah District Officer Shafrie Saili said the Dewan Suarah Mesra would be ready by this week, and about 400 recipients are expected daily to receive the vaccine.

He advised the people here to register immediately, either through the District Office, Health Department or MySejahtera app.
