Diesel worth over RM126 mln seized, seven Bruneians nabbed

KUCHING: A total of 57,800 litres of diesel oil without a valid business licence worth RM126,004 was seized in a joint operation between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

In the operation, RM9,600 of diesel pumps and seven illegal vehicles (five of 4×4 trucks) and two vehicles with Brunei registration plate numbers were seized.

Seven Brunei suspects were detained in the operation and were handed over to the Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BMR), Brunei Darussalam for further action.

The case is being investigated under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, and the Anti-Corruption Act (Chapter 131), in Brunei Darussalam.

The operation is under the Joint Operation (Operasi Bersama), the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in collaboration with the Brunei Darussalam Bureau Anti-Corruption (BMR) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs of Sarawak at Limbang and Kampung Limau Manis and Kuala Lurah in Brunei Darussalam.
