KUCHING: Sarawakians have been reminded not to be fooled twice by Pakatan Harapan (PH) in this 15th general election (GE15).

Deputy Premier and Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian told them PH failed to fulfil its election manifesto in the previous general election.

“They (the opposition) made promises but failed to deliver them and they promised again for the second time.

“We got cheated once, so Sarawakians, please don’t get cheated twice.”

Dr Sim added that unlike PH, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) fulfilled and delivered what it pledged in its election manifesto.

“For GPS, our manifesto is our bible,” he said at a press conference after the launch of GPS Bandar Kuching election manifesto at SUPP Bandar Kuching branch office here yesterday (Nov 9).

“For Sarawak, this is the time, after 60 years, for us to come together as one united voice that we win all the 31 seats in Sarawak so that on the night of the election, everyone has to consult us to form the government.

“Whoever wins, whoever offers us the best terms, we will negotiate with them.

“One thing for sure, GPS, as a local based party, will not sell Sarawak off to Malaya-based parties just to form the government,” added Dr Sim.

He also advised voters not to fall for the fear-mongering tactics by the opposition.

“There are a lot of misleading and fear-mongering tactics which are violations of the election protocols.

“This includes the saying that goes, ‘Vote GPS, Zahid is at ease’. The matter is that whether Zahid (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) is at ease or not, is the court’s decision and no one can withdraw the court case. So this is misleading.

“There are some which said, ‘A voce for GPS, and Najib (Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak) is free’. Whether Najib is free or not, only the King can give pardon,” said Dr Sim.

Also present were GPS candidate for Bandar Kuching Eric Tay and SUPP Kuching branch chairwoman Datuk Lily Yong.
