KUCHING: A stable government is fundamental to a better future for the present and future generations, said Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.

The Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government said Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) needs full support from the voters to continue pursuing the fight to restore and protect the rights of Sarawak as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the Inter-Governmental Committee (IGC) 1962.

“So decide wisely and do not gamble with your future,” he told New Sarawak Tribune, yesterday (Oct 30).

Malaysians will go to the polls on Nov 19 in the country’s 15th general election (GE15).

According to caretaker Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi the latest number of registered voters in Sarawak stands at 1,943,074.

According to him, the number shows an increase of 59.14 per cent for GE15, compared to the 1,220,960 voters recorded during the previous general election.
