KUCHING: Bandar Kuching Democratic Action Party (DAP) candidate Dr Kelvin Yii has lodged a police report on the splattered paint on one of his election billboards at KMC flat.
According to him, such a cowardly act does not dishearten him in any way as the said vandalism is the old political culture.
“I said many times that I respect political differences, opinions and different choices of political parties and ideology but I do not condone such gangsterism, vandalism and cowardly acts by the people.
“This is why I joined the political field. That is to change the old political culture to more positive politics.
“We must remove such acts of vandalism and gangster politics by replacing politics that bring solutions, policies, and service to the people. And that is my promise to the people of Bandar Kuching,” he said in his Facebook post today.
For the record, Dr Yii who was Bandar Kuching incumbent will be contesting for his second term in the parliamentary seat.
Dr Hii will face a three-cornered fight with Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Eric Tay Tze Kok, and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) candidate Voon Lee Shan.
