Drug store gets RM5,000 fine

SIBU: A drug store was fined RM5,000 by the Sessions Court here Tuesday for having two unregistered products.

Judge Marutin Pagan imposed the fine after the company’s representative pleaded guilty to the charge.

According to the charge sheet, the company was found to have had two unregistered products at its premises in the Rejang Park shopping centre on Jan 19 at about 10.12am.

The court was told that a team of pharmacy enforcement members from the Sarawak Health Department had conducted an inspection at the drug store.

The company paid the fine.
