BAU: An unemployed man was arrested for possessing drugs in Kampung Pisa, Krokong this morning (Sept 18).

The drugs weighing 0.44g.

District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, said a police team acting on public information, raided a house in the village around 10am.

The team detained the 33-year-old suspect inside his bedroom and upon inspections found a plastic packet containing crystalline lumps believed to be methamphetamine on the bed.

The suspect along with the drugs weighing 0.44g and worth RM40, were taken to the police station for further action.

He said the suspect who tested positive for drugs, did not have any past record.

Investigations found that the suspect had been involved in substance abuse since early this year by obtaining supplies from his friends.

The suspect will be remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

He assured that Bau narcotics police would continue to conduct inspections from time to time around Bau town, villages or in suspected drug dens, so as to eradicate and fully curb such activity in the district.
