MUKAH: Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine brought early Hari Raya cheer to six siblings who lost their mother last month and their father in July 2020.

The assemblyman took the orphans to buy groceries, basic necessities and ‘baju Raya’ at the supermarkets here in conjunction with his “Program Prihatin Komuniti Aidilfitri N. 57 Tellian”.

The orphans are Muhammad Zulfadhli Shidek, 21, Aleeya Natasha Shidek, 19, Aleesya Syazwani Shidek, 17, Mohd Fazrol Shidek, 13, Muhd Daniel Ziqri Shidek, 10 and  Muhd Darwish Naufal Shidek, 5.

“I hope these kids will become successful people and contribute to the society someday.

“We will also hand over aid in any form to ensure that they won’t miss their studies because we know how important education is for their future.

“In the meantime, in terms of moral support and character development, we will also let them be involved in activities organised by youth non-governmental organisations (NGOs) here,” he said.
