KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sudden and rapid changes in various aspects of teaching are the biggest challenges that teachers are facing today, says Sapawi Mahdi.

“There is no denying that there were also challenges faced in the past, but the current development is seen as greater and more critical, including the incorporation of new technologies,” said the Samarahan District education officer.

“This came with problems that involved spiritual, moral and social, among others.

“In the past, the school atmosphere was loud with the voices of teachers and students with face-to-face teaching and learning. But now the school is quiet as teaching and learning is only carried out online.

“Nevertheless, all parties need to be aware that in facing this challenge, education must be dynamic and futuristic.”

Sapawi was speaking when officiating at SMK Muara Tuang’s Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) 2020 appreciation ceremony held online on Monday (Aug 30).

“As educators, there is a need to be able to produce a generation that is knowledgeable and competitive on top of having critical thinking and action to be able to deal with the current wave of developments and changes.”
