KUCHING: The Royal Customs Department handed over 80 4WD Isuzu D-Max 3.0 to its enforcement division throughout the nation. Of the number, eight units were allocated to the Sarawak Royal Customs’ Enforcement Division.

The distribution of the eight vehicles was according to stations. Two units are for use in Kuching with one each for use by stations in Miri, Bintulu, Sibu, Sarikei, Limbang and Lawas.

All the vehicles have been modified and installed with ‘bull bar’ and video cameras which will be used by Customs officers when carrying out operations and raids.

The vehicles are meant to enhance safety of personnel in the enforcement division who are always receiving threats from smugglers and gangsters.

The Royal Customs Department hopes that with the additional vehicles the department personnel are able to carry out their tasks safely and reduce threats and risks they face daily.
