Eight sides advance to Klanying Buyo Cup 2.0 q-finals

KUCHING: The quarter-finalists for the 2023 edition of the Klanying Buyo Cup 2.0 football championship have been determined.

The successful teams that made the quarter-finals, scheduled to take place on June 25 at the Siburan Stadium, are SY FC, Spark FT, Bako Utd, HFS, Semabang Unity, JS FC, Siburan Utd and Bujang Pogan.

“These teams stood out among the 40 participating teams since the tournament kicked off on May 7,” said organising chairman Jonny Awas.

He expressed his anticipation for the upcoming matches, as the June 25 fixtures would be crucial in determining which teams would advance to the semi-finals and ultimately contend for the championship.

The Klanying Buyo Cup has received positive responses from Kuching, Samarahan and Serian, prompting its continuation as a platform to showcase local talent and enhance skills.

The victorious team will be awarded the prestigious round cup, companion cup, a medal, and a cash prize of RM3,000.

The runners-up will receive a trophy, medal, and RM2,000 in cash, while the third-place team will be presented with a trophy, medal, and RM1,000 in cash.

The fourth-place team will receive a medal and RM500 in cash. Additionally, individual accolades, such as the top scorer and best player of the tournament, will be honoured with trophies.
