KUALA LUMPUR: The Digital Leadership Forum 2022 ‘Driving Business in Pandemic Time’ provides an excellent opportunity to identify best practices and create leads.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg pointed out that the forum also created space for direct networking, knowledge transfer and matchmaking discussions.

“To thrive in times of the digital age and pandemic, no one organisation can survive and as such new business models of co-creation, agility and smart partnerships is the way forward,” he said at the closing ceremony of Digital Leadership Forum at Khazanah Auditorium Asia School of Business in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

Abang Johari stressed that it was crucial for all to come together and deliberate on challenges faced by the corporate sector especially on doing business in pandemic times.

He said the inaugural forum for the state government, statutory bodies and government linked corporations (GLCs) was significant as it signified the gathering of minds of corporate leaders on a digital platform.

“I certainly hope all involved benefit greatly from the e-forum. I would like to reiterate how significant these forums are because I have high hopes that our GLCs and statutory bodies emulate the Open Network Enterprises (ONE) successes and digital forerunners from countries such as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania who are figureheads and global forerunners when it comes to digitisation.

“These corporate organisations have embarked on 5G networks, comprehensive broadband coverage, and extended online administration services characterise the Baltic States as much as a successful start-up and tech-scene, which has brought forth companies such as Skype, Transferwise, Trafi, Taxify, and Starship Technologies

“The Baltic countries are ideal test labs for eGovernment, IT security, Blockchain, and many more digital developments, which are likely to shape our world in the near and far future. We must continue to emulate and adopt these digital transformation projects in order to achieve competitive advantages,” he explained.

Abang Johari urged the State Financial Secretary Office to spearhead the digital transformation initiatives for GLCs and statutory bodies.
