BINTULU: A stationary car burst into flame at a government quarters on Thursday night in Jalan Belimbing here causing residents living nearby to panic.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Eight fire personnel from the Bintulu fire station led by Stephen Plen rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call on the incident at 7.58pm.
The vehicle’s engine was completely destroyed in the fire.
It was learnt that the car was parked in front of the quarters when it suddenly burst into flames.
Several residents grabbed fire extinguishers and tried to douse the flames.
The actual cause of the incident has yet to be identified as investigation is underway.
