KUCHING: Civil servants celebrating Gawai this year are urged to celebrate but in compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) Sarawak president Ahmad Malie advised civil servants against violating the SOP which may invite disciplinary action by their employers.
“To civil servants, Cuepacs Sarawak hopes they would understand that the SOP was given for the betterment of everyone.
“We are still fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. So, let’s adapt to the new normal in celebrating Gawai this year,” he said in a Gawai message.
“#Stayathome and #stay safe. Cuepacs Sarawak wishes everyone a Happy Gawai Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai,” he said.
