Excavator destroyed in wee hour fire

KUCHING: An excavator parked by the roadside in Jalan Telaga Air was engulfed in flames this morning (May 28).
 
Fortunately, no one got hurt during the 3.40am incident in Kampung Selang Ulu.
 
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Petra Jaya station were promptly despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
 
On arrival, they found that the excavator was beyond saving, and the extinguishing deed was performed.
 
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
 
After ensuring that the fire was completely extinguished, the team concluded the operation at 4.45am.
