KUCHING: Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang has extended help to a family in Jalan Chong Fo Hin Lorong 4 in Jalan Batu Kitang after their roof was blown off by strong winds yesterday (Apr 20).
Lo visited the Qiu Siu Jiao family to assess the damages and report on the situation today.
“Upon learning of the family’s situation, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government has decided to provide building materials to aid in the repair works.
“The repairs will be carried out on a gotong-royong basis, with Kapitan Bong Czin Yong overseeing the process to ensure transparency and accountability.
“The Kapitan will certify the arrival and deployment of the materials, as well as the completion of the repair works,” he said when speaking to the press during his visit.
This measure, Lo said, is intended to prevent the abuse of government-provided materials or fundings and ensure that they are used for their intended purpose.
Lo also took the opportunity to express his greetings to the Muslim community on the upcoming Hari Raya celebration.
“Wishing those celebrating Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin, and a happy and blessed holiday season.”
