BAU: An evening fire completely destroyed a farm hut made out of scaffolding at Kampung Boka Toyak, Sungai Pinang here on Saturday (Dec 10).
No injuries or casualties were reported in the 7.30 pm incident.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) said firemen from Bau station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call.
On arrival, the team found that the hut measuring about 14 square metres was beyond saving.
Extinguishing works were promptly carried out and the flames were brought under control around 8.20 pm before it was fully extinguished minutes later.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team wrapped up the operation at 8.50 pm and departed back to their station.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
