BINTANGOR: A man was killed while his two children were injured in a motorcycle accident at Mile 3, KJD Road here on Wednesday.
According to a fire operation commander, the accident occurred around 9.30pm.
A team of seven firefighters, led by PBK II Mohamad Mahmud, from Bintangor Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.
The victim, identified as Semada Beti, 58, sustained injuries to his head and chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to sources, the victim’s children, a teenage girl and a young boy, had to walk about 500 metres to seek help from the nearest longhouse.
It is believed that the trio was en route to their home in Sibu from Julau when Semada lost control of his machine.
The victim’s body was handed over to Bintangor district police headquarters (IPD), for further action.
