Fire destroys three shophouse lots

BINTULU: Three lots on the upper floor of a shophouse in Taman Li Hua, Jalan Medan Jaya were razed by fire yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operation centre said 21 firemen from the Bintulu fire station with two fire engines and a water tanker rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call on the incident at 1.20pm.
Swift action by the firemen prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby unit. No casualties were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire and total loss incurred is still being investigated
