MUKAH: The victims of a fire that destroyed a house in Kampung Penakub Permai on Thursday afternoon have received relief assistance from Tellian assemblyman, Royston Valentine.

Sympathised with the tragedy, Royston visited the victims immediately and presented assistance in terms of cash aids and other necessities.

When approached by Sarawak Public Communication Unit spokesperson (UKAS), he expressed relief that no casualties were reported among the four occupants of the house.

“Despite the sorrow of losing their home to the fire, we are thankful that there were no casualties. I hope the fire victims remain patient and resilient in facing this incident,” he added.

Meanwhile, Royston mentioned that a nearby house which was slightly damaged by the fire would be repaired.

“The nearby house, which suffered about ten percent damage due to the fire, will undergo repair works promptly under the allocation of Minor Rural Project – Sarawak Poor Home Improvement Project (MRPPPRMS) under the Tellian constituency 2024,” he added.

He further stated that the house should be repaired before the upcoming Hari Raya.
