SIBU: Sarawak is the first state in Malaysia that features a Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS).
According to the Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah the PCDS even surprised reporters from others countries.
“When I was in Frankfurt, Germany, one of the questions asked by the media was very specific. What are your state’s and ministry’s programmes after COVID-19?
“They were surprised to hear that the state of Sarawak has already come out with a 10-year post-COVID programme,” he said after officiating at a youth entrepreneur programme here.
He pointed out that this kind of acknowledgment has made one proud to be a Sarawakian.
“Our state government leadership can look far ahead whereas other states, including the federal government, have not yet planned for that.
On our part we have planned what we want to do for the next ten years after COVID,” he said.
