Five busted in raids, RM10k worth of drugs seized

Various drugs worth RM10,222 that were seized by Sarawak NCID at two entertainment centres.

MIRI: Narcotics police arrested five individuals, including a Chinese woman, for alleged involvement in the distribution of drugs last Tuesday (Mar 5).

Miri police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement, said that the other four suspects are two local men and two Indonesian men.

He said the Sarawak Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) conducted raids on two entertainment centres between 12.30 pm and 2.45 pm.

“Inspections inside the premises led to the finding and seizure of 483.90g of various drugs such as Ecstasy, Erimin 5 and ketamine.

“The total seizure value of the drugs is estimated to be worth RM10,222,” he said.

All five suspects are being investigated under Section 39B, Section 39A(2), Section 39A(1) and Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Police urged the public to report any information related to drug abuse activities to the nearest police station.
