Five new PUI cases

KUCHING: The number of patient under investigation (PUI) cases for Covid-19 virus has risen to 85 since January 10.

A statement issued by the State Disaster Management Committee said five new cases were recorded yesterday at the Sarawak General Hospital.

All the five are Malaysian citizens.

The statement said 75 of the cases had proven negative after laboratory test.

The other 10 cases are still awaiting test result. Of the number, 64 are Malaysians, 18 Chinese nationals, one Thai, an Indonesian and a Canadian.

The State Health Department has to date screened 5,176 arrivals at various airports, land and sea entry points statewide.
