KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching recently contributed food aid to students of SMK Tabuan Jaya who are undergoing 14 days quarantine.

Hope Place in a statement on Tuesday said 87 students are undergoing quarantine in the state’s sports school.

“We received an urgent call requesting food aid for quarantined school students. They have been under quarantine since Apr 19.

“The school’s principal, Edward Ngelai informed us that the boarding school provides three meals a day for all of the students. However, the students being teenagers needed more sustenance than the meals provided,” Hope Place explained.

The charitable non-governmental organisation (NGO) handed over the contribution to the school principal and it was witnessed by the State Chief Environmental Health officer from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sarawak, Billy Sujang.

Among the items given were biscuits, drinking water, instant noodles, Milo, hand sanitisers and medical face masks.
