SIBU: A total of 200 B40 families in the Lanang constituency here benefitted from a food aid programme.

Lanang MP Alice Lau said the programme was organised by Lanang Service Centre together with a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

“Eligible families will receive RM200 one-off from the NGO to buy basic necessities such as rice, canned food, flour, biscuits, eggs, food seasoning and cooking oil at certain supermarkets.

“Currently, the selected supermarket is Kim Hock Supermarket Sibu Jaya,” she said in a Facebook post here on yesterday (Feb 6).

Lau also noted that the recipients needed to meet certain conditions.

“They must be a Malaysian citizen and from the B40 group. All applicants are reviewed and approved by the NGO.”

Lau did not disclose which NGO the service centre was working with.

Waiting for their turns.
