MULU: Four men, two of them expatriates, were rushed to Miri Hospital on Tuesday (April 26) after they sustained injuries when a bridge suddenly gave way.

They were airlifted by a Samling helicopter in the 3 pm incident.

The foreigners – one a German who works as a resort general manager and the other a Belgian – both of whom work at a resort here, were reportedly sustained injuries to their bodies.

A Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre spokesman said the Belgium injured his eyes and his right hand while the German fractured a leg in the incident.

The two locals, working for timber firm Samling, sustained light bodily injuries.
