KUCHING: Four schools in Sarawak will be selected for the ‘Solar School Project’, thanks to a South Korean company, OCIM Sdn Bhd.

The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) said in a report that OCIM vice chairman Lee Woo Hyun will provide students the opportunity to experience and understand the importance of. environmentally-friendly energy in the zero carbon era.

Lee said his team has installed a solar power generation system in nearly 300 schools in South Korea to date, explaining that the system not only generates power, but also aims to educate students on the importance of and raise awareness about renewable energy.

He made the remarks during a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia yesterday.

Lee also expressed his appreciation for the continuous support of the Sarawak government towards its efforts to explore green energy in the region.
